Analysis of H2, AR, O2, N2 in Helium

APPLICATION # 140

The Analysis

This GC is used to analyze hydrogen, argon, oxygen, nitrogen, and methane impurities in the production of helium.

How It Works

A purged helium manifold consisting of two valves is used to inject the pure helium into two separate column systems. One column is used for the separation of Ne, H2, Ar, O2, N2, and CH4. The second column is used for the analysis of methane with a shorter column. Typical ranges of the impurities are from 2 to 50 ppm.

Total analysis time is approximately 18 minutes.
