The Analysis

This GC is configured to analyze all ORSAT gases by thermal conductivity detector; H2, O2, N2, CH4, CO, CO2.

 

How It Works

The GC is configured to accept samples directly from the sample bomb. At the moment of injection the sample is injected into a porous polymer column in series with a molecular sieve column. The compounds H2, O2, N2, CH4, and CO enter the molecular sieve column within 1 minute of injection. Just prior to CO2 emerging from the porous polymer column, the valve is switched. Elution of CO2 is about 6.5 minutes through a porous polymer column. All other hydrocarbons C2 and higher are back flushed from the column.

 

 

Total analysis time is approximately 7 minutes.
