The Analysis

The GC is used for the analysis of H2, O2, and N2 in ethylene.

 

How It Works

A single multi-port valve injects the sample into a molecular sieve column which has a porous polymer pre-column. The pre-column prevents the ethylene from entering the mole-sieve column. At approximately 4 minutes, the pre-column is back-flushed to vent the ethylene. The lighter gases are separated in the mole-sieve and analyzed by the TCD detector.
