The Analysis

Completely automated analysis using only one gas chromatograph configured for determining total and individual normal paraffins in desorbent free UOP Molex process stream.

 

 

How It Works

The samples are injected into a single GC provided with packed columns in series with two TCD detectors that are separated by molecular sieve extractor columns. The extractor columns remove normal paraffins, thus two chromatograms are obtained for each TCD detector. The first chromatogram shows the normal and non-normal hydrocarbons, which are not resolved. The second detector analyzes the non-normals after the normals are removed by the molesieve column. Our software subtracts the two chromatograms in order to calculate accurately the normal paraffin content.
